>> mark, thank you. part of the port of oakland is shut down now because of a fatal accident there. a long time long shoreman lost his life when he veered into the water in a pickup truck. >> police say this man accidentally drove off the pier here. long shoremen say it just shouldn't have happened. we've learned the victim's name is manuel and he's 80 years old and has been a worker here for 50 years. sky 7 is overhead as divers attempt to rescue a man in a pickup truck. police received a 911 call this afternoon and responded. a rescue seemed unlikely because the vehicle was in 50 feet of water. they're attempting to recover the body of the 80-year-old long shoreman. rescuers were unable to g t te

truck landed upside down. >> the crane was brought in to place. the divers attached cable lines, raising the truck up enough to gain access. >> like a dad to all of us. it's a very, very sad thing that should not have happened and it's an accident. we'll be investigating over the next 24 hours. >> co-workers are saddened by the death of a man they say worked with them for 50 years. long shoremen here are now in mourning. we can see the body was recovered at 2:30 p.m. long shoremen say he was driving a white pickup truck while working as a clerk. now, the terminal will be closed for 24 hours during the investigation by oakland police's fatal response team and port of oakland during that time, long shoremen say they'll be mourning the loss

>> the owner of a party bus company charge wtd death of a passenger made a court appearance today. he was arraigned in san jose this morning. police arrested him on wednesday after being indicted on manslaughter charges. a grand jury found he was negligent in maintaining a bus i woman fell out of last summer. she was in a fight with another woman who fell out of the bus but survived. >> a south bay man accused of killing his mother and nephew this week went before br a judge. ruben ramirez held his head down and covered his face, charged with two counts of murder for stabbing death wednesday of his mother and 1-year-old nephew in their east san jose home. police and neighbors say ramirez has a history of mental problem that's could be a factor in deciding whether prosecuters seek the death penalty. >> it's one of many factors that have to be considered
